Dealing with operations and averting dangers is the top priority for the Emergency Response/Employment Directorate. This is where the departments that handle everything from emergency calls to 110 to special situations (e.g. major events, gatherings) are brought together.

The majority of the uniformed emergency services of the Directorate for Emergency Response/Employment (GE) are on duty at the two police stations, which are manned around the clock. From the stations, the numerous emergency vehicles drive to their missions in all districts of Krefeld. Our "FInKen" (bicycle patrols for Krefeld city center) and motorcycle patrols are also frequently seen on the streets of Krefeld. They are supported by officers from the task force, who are mainly on duty in the city in civilian clothes, and by the service dog squadron. Our district service officers are also deployed as competent local contacts in all parts of the city.

In each individual case, quick decisions have to be made so that citizens can be helped quickly.

The command and situation service of the Krefeld police with its control center is responsible for receiving and processing all emergency calls from the area of responsibility of the Krefeld police headquarters, as well as for forwarding and accompanying the resulting operations. In addition, operational information is prepared here and made available as required.


The control center is manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
